JET STAR

What happens when a well-established music production company launches a new music label in a new field – and wants to get the word out? You appoint someone who knows more about it than you. After several years as gospel section editor for the Gleaner Voice Group, Denise Roberts was appointed to set up and run the new marketing and PR department for Jet Star, a music production company established in the 1970's. She also sought out and secured new retail outlets for the supply of CDs in stores such as HMV and Wesley Owen. Additional tasks included publicity support for singers, organising and representing artistes at events, and writing and placing of press releases.
